Dr. Nakeisha Savage
An author, educator, instructional leader, professional development facilitator, anti-racist coach, and poet, Dr. Nakeisha Savage has worked in urban school districts for the past 22+ years serving in a variety of roles including Principal, Instructional Coach, and Adjunct Faculty at local colleges/universities in Maryland. Currently, Dr. Savage leads her own consultancy agency, Savage EduConsulting.
She also serves as an Anti-Racist Coach with Tracey A. Benson Consulting, an adjunct faculty with Goucher College and Coppin State University, a Maryland State Department of Education Blueprint Expert Review consultant, and an Instructional Specialist with Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
Grounded in the belief that “empowerment is at the heart and soul of education,” Dr. Savage is skilled in leadership and organizational development with a proven track record of strengthening instructional practices and enhancing student learning experiences leading to increased student achievement for marginalized student populations.
A native and current resident of Baltimore City, Dr. Nakeisha Savage graduated from Morgan State University (B.S.), Towson University (M.Ed.), and Capella University (Ed.D.). Recipient of the Wright Family Foundation Fund for Educational Excellence Grant for two consecutive years, Dr. Savage has led and supported schools in cultivating communities of educators committed to high-quality instruction that embraces diversity through an equity lens aimed to remove barriers to equal opportunities and resources for all.
She remains dedicated to continuing to lead efforts in improvement sciences, aimed to close the achievement gap between students regardless of their ethnicity and race by implementing anti-racist practices that actively engage all stakeholders in reflection and action planning towards dismantling systemic and institutionalized racism.
